(PMAN National Treasurer, Mr. Baba Ojonugwa (J.F.O)

In a major twist to the leadership crisis within the Performing Musicians Employers Association of Nigeria (PMAN), National Treasurer Baba Ojonugwa (J.F.O) has officially distanced himself from the ex-National Working Committee (NWC) members, revealing that his signature was fraudulently used in their communications without consent. Ojonugwa's disassociation, outlined in a letter dated September 6, 2024, threatens to unravel the ex-NWC’s legal battle and governance claims.

Ojonugwa stated that despite repeated warnings, former NWC members, including notable names like Sunny Neji, Zaaki Azzay, Ruggedman, Boniface Itodo, and Faga Bem Paul, continued to misuse his name and signature in their press releases and correspondences. His bold move raises ethical questions about the ex-NWC’s integrity and casts doubt on the legitimacy of their ongoing actions.

With Ojonugwa’s exit, the ex-NWC can no longer form a quorum, a key requirement under PMAN’s constitution. This leaves the group in a vulnerable position, unable to make binding decisions or represent PMAN officially. As the legal fallout continues, PMAN’s National Executive Council (NEC) is expected to take decisive action, with Ojonugwa’s disassociation potentially tipping the scales in favor of the current leadership.

This unfolding drama puts the future of PMAN at a critical juncture, with all eyes on the NEC to restore order.
