Since 2015, I have had the privilege of covering Adron Homes events for Citypeople magazine, attending various functions in locations such as Ilishan, Ondo, Oyo, Sagamu, Yaba, and Omole. These events include the Adron Games, Easter celebrations, Children's events, and the annual Lemon Fridays. Over the past eight years, I have witnessed Aare Oba Adetola’s dedication to community engagement and his ability to connect with people. His warm demeanor and authentic approach have left a lasting impression on me, reinforcing my belief that he is a true leader who cares about the well-being of others.
As President of RSSOSA, Aare Oba Adetola has been a unifying force, transforming the association into a dynamic and inclusive community. His leadership has prioritized the empowerment of members and the strengthening of the alumni network. One of his key initiatives was the Leadership Workshop in 2022, a program designed to equip members with leadership skills and foster personal and professional growth. Aare Adetola’s ability to bridge the class gap within RSSOSA has been one of his standout achievements. One of the most emotional moments during Aare Oba Adetola’s presidency came during the 2021 40th anniversary of the RSS Alumni, where the Principal of Remo Secondary School and several teachers were given generous rewards in recognition of their service. This gesture deeply moved attendees, showcasing the association's gratitude for the educators who have shaped generations of students. The emotional response from the guests highlighted Aare Adetola’s ability to lead with compassion and honor those who have contributed to the school’s legacy.
In another touching moment, Chief Mrs. Olufunke Akanke Wilde, the esteemed ex-Principal of Remo Secondary School, was celebrated during the same anniversary for her 80th birthday. The event, filled with heartfelt tributes and surprises, honored her decades of service and dedication to the school. Aare Adetola and the RSSOSA community came together to recognize her contributions, further strengthening the bond between the alumni and their former mentors.
